Presented at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale in the Italian Pavilion, the design of the InsideOut school exhibition is driven by a series of questions: what is the purpose of architecture? What is the role of cultural Institutions? What forms of communication should be used to stimulate social and cultural debate?

Andrea Tabocchini and Francesca Vittorini, authors of the project, propose an installation composed of two complementary panels – placing side by side the traditional photos of the architectural project with the story of the process and the protagonists who made it possible. The exhibition space is split in half: on one side a "formal" panel with 9 photos distributed with a rigid layout illustrating the building; on the other, an "informal" panel with a large drawing that brings to the Biennale the faces of all the people who built it (inhabitants of the local community and volunteers from 20 countries). The artwork that portrays the faces was made by the artist Ozmo (Gionata Gesi) directly on site, using felt pens and kitchen degreaser, bringing the informal language of street art to the Biennale.
The result is an exhibition design that, taking inspiration from the process used to create the building, experiments with a more direct and empathic way of presenting architecture. An exhibition that mixes formal and informal representations, seeking a silent dialogue between content and visitor.
